Calvert County Public Schools’ primary goal is to produce “graduates who are responsible citizens with options and choices in the 21st century.” In order to thrive in today’s changing world, our students must be prepared for the world beyond the classroom. Technology and 21st century skills are mutually dependent on each other – learning 21st century skills requires students to use technology, and technology supports the learning of other 21st century skills. Calvert County Public Schools strives to build the students’ understanding of different aspects of technology that will provide students with options outside of the school setting.
Calvert County Public Schools’ computer science courses are intended to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use computers. The computer science program offers students experiences in the study of computers and their capabilities, computer languages, programming techniques, problem solving skills and the use of the computer and appropriate software as a problem-solving tool.
